OFFICIAL DECLARATION OF THE MAGISTRAL GRAND SECRETARIAT
WHO
ARE WE?
We,
the Knights and Clergy of the Order of the
We
do further state that in times past the Order has bound itself to King and Pontiff.
In the course of historical events, doing so allowed for the Order's almost total
destruction. We, therefore, do here and now abolish these bonds that
formerly connected Templar to any King or Pontiff and pledge ourselves only to
God and God’s service. We assert our right of free association with any group
or groups and declare that we are a free and independent Order of the faithful.
We
declare ourselves an independent charitable Monastic Order of Templar knights;
however, we may choose to associate with any organisation of the Templar
tradition that, like ourselves, pledges to serve God, mankind, and each
individual by following the Laws of God. We agree to observe the laws of
each Nation in which our Order exists now and in the future. We require
all Knights and Dames to observe the laws of the land in which they reside and
to conduct themselves with nobility and virtue.
The
purposes for which this Order has been organised are as follows: a) to
organise and continue this “Knights Templar Order of the Temple” as an Order
to aid, support, and further the practices and beliefs of the Christian Faith;
to encourage, support, and promote the humanitarian principles and ideals of
Templar; b) to share books, pamphlets, circulars, articles, newspapers,
magazines, and all other literature pertaining to Templar; c) to hold meetings,
discussions, and forums on issues affecting Templar; d) to take part in
collective action with similarly constituted groups, organisations, and
associations; to put into action programs and activities that foster, support,
and further Templar principles and ideals; e)
to promote fraternity and social interaction by means of social gatherings and
activities; f) to initiate, sponsor, and conduct programs and activities for the
assistance, protection, and benefit of Knights Templar; g) to solicit, collect,
and otherwise raise money for charitable, educational, philanthropic, and
benevolent purposes; h) to expend, distribute, disburse, or otherwise dispose of
such money in furtherance of the Order’s goals and purposes; i) to engage in
charitable activities and service to benefit the community; and generally to
promote a spirit of friendship and benevolence among all peoples of the Earth.
Living by the principles of chivalry and upholding as shining examples the behaviour of the original Templar Knights, who displayed true nobility of the Soul, it becomes possible for men and women of the 21st century to manifest in their lives the greatest principles ever conceived by God. Our Order teaches, and our own members pray always for, the reunification of the human spirit with that of God. We allow our spirit to be filled with nobility of purpose as we begin to look at the myriad possibilities for the future.
Service
to God and our fellow man is now, as it was in the past, the prime directive of
our Order.
