Official Magistral Grand Priory of the Holy Lands
Knights Templar Medal of Merit (3 Classes)

With the immense growth in member Templar Knights and Dames from around the world joining our Magistral Grand Priory, it has become clear that many have dedicated much time and resources to charitable and humanitarian activities in the name of our Grand Priory and the OSMTH-SMOTJ Order. As a mark of recognition for those that have performed exceptional service supporting humanity, a token of esteem is deemed worthy, not as an egotistical badge, but rather a sign of gratitude on behalf of those that are not as fortunate to have a voice to thank our faceless members who seek no recognition for their Templar deeds.
The Magistral Grand Priory of the Holy Lands has hereby commissioned the striking of the Holy Lands Medal of Merit in three classes, Silver Medal of Merit, Silver Medal of Merit with Honours and the highest award of Gold Medal of Merit.
The
Silver Medal of Merit is hung from a plain red ribbon to commemorate the red
cross worn upon the breast by our founding Knights. The medal being struck from
solid sterling silver, is a facsimile of our Orders Grand Seal depicting two
Knights riding upon one horse.
The
Silver Medal of Merit with Honours is hung from a deep red ribbon to commemorate
the blood spilt by our fallen brothers and sisters through history with two
white edges to remind us of our Order's historic dual role as warrior Knights
and Monks of peace. The medal being struck from solid sterling silver, is a
facsimile of our Orders Grand Seal depicting two Knights riding upon one horse.
The
Gold Medal of Merit is hung from a yellow ribbon to remind us of the sands of
Outremer with a single deep red central stripe to commemorate the blood spilt by
our fallen brothers and sisters, encased between two white edges to remind us of
our Order's historic dual role as warrior Knights and Monks of peace. The medal
being struck from solid 18 carat gold, is a facsimile of our Orders Grand Seal
depicting two Knights riding upon one horse.
Kindly note that these medals of merit cannot be ordered and are NOT for sale. The medals are only awarded by the Magistral Grand Prior of the Holy Lands at an official ceremony held in an officially recognised church of worship. Recipients of these awards are not required to make any payment of any kind.
